Recently, Big Issue Foundation has launched their Discord server to expand our audience and interact with our supporters online.
What is Discord?
Discord is a free app that’s used by tens of millions of people ages 13+ to talk and hang out with their communities and friends. It’s a home for communities of any size, but it’s most widely used by small and active groups of people who talk regularly.
Discord lets you set up a chat room (a bit like a message board) it refers to as a server, to which you can invite people. When you invite someone to the server, they get a link that lets them join it, where they can chat with other people using that server. Each server can be broken down further into “channels,” small spaces for discussions on specific topics, as opposed to one giant live forum.
What can you expect from our server?
Our discord server can be used by our supporters to keep up with all things Big Issue Foundation. We’ll be posting news and announcements in our server channels, giving fundraising tips and tricks, sharing events, and meeting and chatting with our supporters. We are excited to reach a wider audience and connect with our supporters in a fun and unique new way.
