Big Issue Foundation

Dean’s story

The Big Issue Foundation helped me get my CBT (compulsory basic training) to become a cycle courier. I know from experience how much they support vendors and I want to help TBIF to support other vendors in return. This is why I’ve decided to take on two cycle challenges in 2015 for the charity! I will be going to Holland for the first time on the London to Amsterdam cycle ride. As well as this, I will be riding 100 miles in one day on Ride London this weekend.

During my courier work, I’ve managed to cycle around 50 miles a day which has been good training.  I also really enjoy riding around Richmond Park. I took part in Ride London last year and I’m looking forward to riding the free open roads of London again, without having to worry about traffic. Ride London is a great challenge and you only have to worry about the other cyclists around you on the route.

You can sponsor me for the two cycling challenges here.

With our online vendor map, you can support a local vendor by supplementing their income with a subscription to Big Issue. For every annual subscription sold via a vendor, a vendor receives £50.
