Housing Technology, the leading technology information service for the UK housing sector and local governments, is delighted to have raised £600 for The Big Issue Foundation at their 11th annual conference by collecting donations from attendees. Housing Technology have also matched this and donated a further £600.
This matched donation could provide a utilities grant for 12 vendors to help pay for gas and electric during the Covid-19 lockdown.
Housing Technology’s CEO George Grant provided copies of Sabrina Cohen-Hatton’s book, The Heat of the Moment, following Sabrina’s keynote speech at Housing Technology 2020 in exchange for donations from generous attendees. The Housing Technology conference is the largest IT event in the social housing sector and attracted over 500 delegates last week.
George Grant said:
‘We are delighted to have made a contribution to The Big Issue Foundation which is a charity very close to our hearts. I have known Lord Bird for years and have a strong connection to The Big Issue. We are also proud to have raised these funds by supporting Big Issue ambassador Sabrina Cohen-Hatton. Our delegates were inspired by her account of dealing with homelessness at a young age and her current role working as a senior firefighter. A big thank you to everyone for their contributions.’
This is not the first time that Sabrina’s book has raised funds for The Big Issue Foundation. Last year, Sabrina was a special guest speaker at Asian Fire Services Association Spring Conference. Copies of her book were also sold at this event with all proceeds going directly to The Big Issue Foundation.
