Run, walk or cycle in 2022 to support Big Issue vendors

Whether you’re lacing up your trainers for the first time, looking for a goal to keep you motivated or dreaming of a brand-new challenge to look forward to, there are loads of ways you can get involved.

Take on a personal challenge and raise funds to ensure we can continue providing vital support to Big Issue vendors.

We have four events we would love you to get involved in to support Big Issue vendors in 2022 – check them out!

Bath Half Marathon

  • When: Sunday 13th March 2022
  • Registration: £20
  • Fundraising Target: £250

Registration is now open for the March 2022 event, join us and you’ll be supported by our amazing team throughout your fundraising and training, and helping us to end poverty and homelessness for Big Issue vendors.

This popular half marathon boasts a flat and scenic route straddling both sides of the River Avon and threading through the heart of the stunning World Heritage city.

The fast and flat course makes it suitable for all abilities, from complete beginners to more regular long-distance event runners looking to beat their personal best time.

General places are sold out so the only way to be a part of this event is by securing a charity place!


The London Walk

  • When: Saturday 19th March 2022
  • Registration: £20 (both 10k and Marathon distances available)
  • Fundraising Target: £150 (10k) / £350 (Marathon)

We are excited to reveal to you that we have joined forces with the London Homeless Collective to being you The London Walk on the 19th March 2022!

The London Walk will kick off at 9pm on Saturday 19th March, with both a 10km or Marathon route available. Both routes will start and finish in Trafalgar Square.

The marshalled routes will journey through Central London, the West End and Westminster, passing many landmarks and including pit-stops at LHC members including The Passage in Victoria.

Both the 10k and Marathon routes will finish back in Trafalgar Square. We’ll be there waiting for you with a hot cuppa and a big pat on the back!


RideLondon

  • When: Sunday 29th May 2022
  • Registration: £25
  • Fundraising Target: £500

This is a unique opportunity to ride 100 miles on traffic-free roads through the heart of London and neighbouring Essex. 

The event will start on Victoria Embankment and finish to rapturous applause at Tower Bridge, with 65 miles through some of Essex’s most beautiful countryside and villages in between.

If you would like to ride in support of The Big Issue Foundation, applications are now open. We have limited charity places available so please ensure you fully complete our application. We will start allocating our charity places in February!

General places are sold out so unless you get lucky in the ballot, the only way to be a part of this event is by securing a charity place!


London Marathon

  • When: Sunday 3rd October 2022
  • Registration: £50
  • Fundraising Target: £2,000

Get a charity place with The Big Issue Foundation in October 2022 for the world’s greatest marathon, taking in some of London’s famous landmarks including Buckingham Palace, The Cutty Sark, Tower Bridge and Canary Wharf. This 26.2-mile race is one of the World Marathon Majors and is a mainly flat course.

If you would like to run in support of The Big Issue Foundation for the TCS London Marathon 2022, applications are now open. We have limited charity places available so please ensure you fully complete our application. We will start allocating our charity places in February!

The ballot has already closed and so if you’re not in, the only way to be a part of this event is by securing a charity place!

Support someone in your own community

With our online vendor map, you can support a local vendor by supplementing their income with a subscription to Big Issue. For every annual subscription sold via a vendor, a vendor receives £50.
