Behind the scenes

Support Big Issue vendors when you shop this Christmas

Every time you use one of their shopping vouchers or deals, Savoo donates to charity at no additional cost to you.

For Week 1 of Savoo’s 2022 Christmas campaign, Savoo will donate a kickback to Big Issue Foundation on every discount code used on their website.

From 14th to 20th November, simply using Savoo to shop will raise funds for us to carry on our essential work this Christmas.

Saving with Savoo

Savoo allows you to save money at thousands of your favourite retailers with their voucher codes and deals. Every time you use one of these vouchers and deals, Savoo donates to charity at no additional cost to you.

“Savoo are excited to support Big Issue this Christmas and are thrilled to be kicking off our annual Christmas campaign to help such an important cause!” – Bianca Mitchell, Savoo’s Charity Partnerships Director

Christmas and the Cost-of-Living Crisis

The UK is facing one of its most challenging times for decades. While the cost-of-living crisis affects us all, those already struggling will be pushed even further into poverty.

This Christmas, every magazine sale, every subscription, every gift, and every voucher used could have a big impact for those who need it most.

“Demand for our service is rising as more vulnerable people living in poverty turn to the Big Issue Foundation for additional wrap around support in the face of soaring energy costs, cuts to Universal Credit and the rising cost of living.” – Tracy Griffin, Big Issue Foundation CEO

Big Issue Foundation is continuing to give a Hand Up to support those in need this Christmas through:

  • Ensuring our wrap around support, the Hand Up service, is equipped and ready to act and to support people when they need it most.
  • Connecting individuals to essential resources and services via our trained outreach and case workers.
  • Providing emergency grants where critically needed.
  • Expanding our wrap around support to include an even greater focus on closing the digital gap for those in poverty, new interventions to accelerate access to mental health for those who need it, and a bigger push than ever in addressing fuel poverty and food shortage.

If you are planning to do any Christmas shopping this week, or even just your weekly shop, sign up to Savoo to access their vouchers and deals. Through shopping and saving, you would be helping us support the 14.5 million people that live in poverty in the UK.

This Christmas, it’s more important than ever to do every little thing we can to help each other. A time to give what you can, even if it’s a smile.

Sign-up to Savoo here to start your shopping now!
