On Friday 6th March 2020, we’re bringing together hundreds of our supporters to take part in a 13-mile walk at night through the heart of London to raise funds for The Big Issue Foundation. Following a stunning route through trendy Shoreditch, vibrant Soho and the iconic Southbank, you’ll be guided and supported every step of the way by our fabulous team of staff and volunteers. The walk will begin at Shoreditch Town Hall and will include three rest stops where you can stop for a break and light refreshments while you learn more about life as a Big Issue vendor.
“All staff and volunteers from start to finish were incredibly enthusiastic and supportive” – Karen, Previous Night Walk participant
The Big Night Walk was founded in solidarity with rough sleepers who often find it safer to walk during the night rather than bed down on London’s streets, and offers participants the opportunity to see the capital in a whole new light. As well as standing in solidarity with people facing poverty and exclusion, you’ll have the chance to hear from Big Issue vendors past and present to gain an insight into the work you’ll be supporting.
The money you raise will be used to assist our hard-working frontline services teams across the country, who connect Big Issue vendors to the vital support and specialist services that enable them to rebuild their lives and determine their own pathways to a better future. Every year, by contributing to our work, our team of Big Night Walkers make a real difference to the lives of people who are working hard to move away from a life of poverty and exclusion on the streets.
