Imagine Spider-Man, Iron Man and the Incredible Hulk joining forces with Luke Skywalker, Rey and Chewbacca. It is a prospect being entertained by Stan Lee, creator of many of Marvel’s most famous superheroes.
“Obviously the people who produce these [movies] are looking to be as successful as possible,” Lee told The Big Issue. “If they feel that incorporating Star Wars with the Marvel characters will be very successful, they’ll find a way to do it. Can you imagine Spider-Man saying, “May the force be with you”? It may come to that!”
The rights to most Marvel characters and the Star Wars franchise are both owned by Disney, so in theory there is nothing stopping them combining the two universes in one form or another.

The upcoming Captain America: Civil War will be the first time Spider-Man, whose film rights previously tied him to Fox, will be seen alongside the Avengers such as Iron Man and Black Widow. Lee believes that it is only a matter of time before the X-Men and Guardians of the Galaxy also feature in the same film.
“It’ll be the most expensive film ever produced!” Lee said. “I don’t know how many characters you can have in a movie but anything that the public want to see you can be sure it will eventually be produced.”
