Scottish filmmaker records incredible Glasgow skyline transformation

Chris Leslie's Disappearing Glasgow project explores the change in Glasgow's once famous social housing skyline

A Scottish filmmaker has recorded the remarkable transformation of Glasgow’s city skyline – a sight that once littered with high rise social housing towers.

In a book and video series exploring the city’s change over the past decade, BAFTA Scotland New Talent award-winning photographer and filmmaker Chris Leslie documents an era of spectacular change in Glasgsow, and also features a series of interviews with those at the frontline.

It’s claimed that 30 per cent of high rise flats in Glasgow have disappeared since 2006, with communities dispersed across the city and run-down areas transformed by events such as the Commonwealth Games.
